Runner to Compete in Marathon for SHARED
For
the first time in the 116 year history of the Boston Marathon, a
runner from Lesotho will participate in this world-class race. Based
on his athletic ability as well as his desire to represent his country
and SHARED ,
Mr. Motlokoa Clement Nkhabutlane will run the 26.2 miles of the
marathon on April 16, 2012.
As
SHARED 's
guest, Mr. Nkhabutlane will speak to community groups, schools,
and other events to raise awareness of the plight of the 400,000
orphans in the impoverished country of Lesotho. He will share his
inspiring story of training and running to lift himself out of difficult
circumstances to stay healthy. Motlokoa is a role model to many
people, especially the children, of Lesotho.
With
your support or the support of your organization, SHARED will provide
medicines, medical supplies, and medical equipment to orphanages
and rural hospitals in Lesotho. Your support will save lives
and create better health for hundreds of children.
